Issue Position

Education is what turned me toward a life of public service. The catalyst was a group of eager, but ill-prepared rising seniors in my office one summer that showed me the shortcomings of our educational system in workforce preparation. Plenty of good-paying, satisfying jobs go begging because we don't have the trained workers. My efforts on the House Education Oversight Committee have been focused on preparing our children for the career their choice. I won't stop once I'm in the Senate. The prosperity provided by good-paying jobs won't happen unless the next generation - and beyond - has the right skills and knowledge.
